Association ZORA

Description: The Association ZORA is a non-governmental and non-profit civil society organization committed to the promotion of human rights and equal opportunities for all which works to protect human rights and has specialized in prevention of gender-based violence and prevention of violence in adolescent relationships, primarily in the Međimurje County. They strive to raise awareness on social interests such as, sexual and reproductive health and problems of marginalized groups. Main programs of ZORA include educational centers, empowerment and assistance to socially excluded and marginalized groups, and suppression of family / gender-based violence.

Blue Phone (Plavi Telefon)

Description: Blue phone is a non-governmental organization which offers expert advice and free telephone counselling for children and parents. They aim to provide support for issues such as peer violence, depression, alcoholism, drug abuse and suicide that traditional centers might not accomplish. Helpline for young people together with the associated Counseling center Open Doors reports that in their work they encounter cases of violence in adolescent relationships.

Brave Phone for Children (Hrabri Telefon)

Description: Brave Phone is a non-governmental organization with the needs, rights and protection of children in Croatia at its heart. As well as offering a helpline for children and parents, Brave Phone supports families through a number of programs based in schools, communities and online. Brave Phone for Children is a Helpline that responds to the need for safety and security of every child. They also work to prevent cruelty and injustice toward children. Brave Phone has 70 active volunteers who are trained to provide counseling over the phone to those who need support and help. Brave Phone has been granted full membership of Child Helpline International.

CESI

Description: CESI was the first association in Croatia that systematically started to address gender equality and the prevention of violence in adolescent relationships through research, awareness raising and educational programs aimed at working with young people. Target groups include teachers, young people and decision makers. As a feminist organization CESI also advocates for the advancement of women’s rights and pushes for gender equality through a number of projects. They also work to empower women to take on leadership roles.

Child Protection Center of Zagreb

Description: Child Protection Center of Zagreb was founded in 2002 with the goal to provide psychological, social, psychiatric, and pediatric help to children with various traumatic experiences as well as their parents in order to deal better and more successfully with the consequences of these experiences. They usually work with children who have been sexually, physically or emotionally abused. A team of professionals including lawyers, social workers, nurses, psychiatrists, etc. is available to help these children and families.

MODUS - Centre for Children, Youth and Family

Description: MODUS - Centre for Children, Youth and Family conducts trainings for school staff on the prevention of violence in adolescent relationships. Society for Psychological Assistance

Description: The Society for Psychological Assistance is a non-profit, non-governmental mental health organization, founded in 1993. The SPA has a membership of 37 mental health professionals and aims to improve the quality of life of individuals, groups and communities by strengthening their competencies and resources and to stimulate a holistic mental and psychosocial development of children, youth and families.

A good example of the potentially sustainable project represents the project on prevention of violence in adolescent relationships which among other things includes this topic through an elective course on seven university studies and allows students additional training and conducting workshops in high schools.

Description: Status M (Zagreb) Strives to deconstruct social norms and stereotypes in order to promote gender equality. They primarily works with young men and implements the educational program "Young Men Initiative: promotion of gender equality norms, healthy lifestyles and non-violent behavior of young people" where gender-based violence is one of the key components of the program.

Step by Step Parents' Association

Description: The Association of Parents "Step by Step" a non-governmental and non-profit association whose main objective is to promote value of the community focused on children. Their main activity is to promote the rights of children and their families and to give parents a voice in policy making. One of their programs is the CAP program for the prevention of child abuse, which works to prevent child abuse from preschool to adolescence. The programs primary purpose is to empower children to prevent attacks by peers, attacks by unknown person (kidnapping), and attacks by known adults. The goal is to reduce verbal, physical, and sexual abuse towards children and adolescents.
