Research
As part of this activity, we implemented quantitative research to map the incidence of intimate partner violence among teenagers, the types and forms of teen dating violence and its consequences. We have realized this research in all partner countries.
The research was realized via the online questionnaire on a representative sample of 1 000 persons in each country. The composition of the respondents corresponds to a representative sample so that the research results can be used as argumentative material in lobby activities and so on. Local researches are followed by comparative research. We use the results of this research to effectively target other activities (Facebook group, online platform and interactive quiz).
The social group on Facebook (or Instagram)
We created a social group in each country, where the youth workers debate about the topics related to TDV. In March 2018 the training focused on social media and communication with youth in crisis was realized.
The discussions are led by workers or young volunteers from partner organisations who work with this target group and have knowledge of TDV issues. Different references to materials, videos or websites dealing with TDV issues are uploaded and shared in these groups. A debate about healthy relationships and TDV is encouraged. The worker regularly (once in a week) read the contributions and comments of them.
Moreover, our project flexibly reacts to the situation and new social media important for youths. Therefore, several partner organizations decided to also use Instagram, as it is more popular among young people on which the project focuses. The posts on Instagram have several goals – for example, they inform about TDV and healthy relationship, they inform about the Facebook group or other activities of the project, or they motivate followers to discuss some topic or share their opinion.
