Article 42 of the Constitution

Description: Article 42 of the Constitution is a non-governmental, non-political, human rights advocacy organization founded on September 12, 1997. The members of the organization are professional lawyers providing free of charge legal assistance to the victims of human rights abuses in local and international courts and other state agencies.

Association ATINATI

Description: ATINATI's mission is to promote the establishment of an educated, tolerant and free society. To accomplish its mission, ATINATI raises information awareness of the citizens in Western Georgia and implements projects that aim to strengthen citizen rights and involvement. ATINATI works with IDPs, victims of violence (mainly women and children) and migrants. Victims of violence are provided with psychological and legal consultation as well as medical help. ATINATI also works with the perpetrator and spreads information about violence and its prevention. The organization is also dedicated to protecting Georgian Migrants' Rights.

Democrat Women's Organization of Samtskhe-Javakheti

Description: Runs a gynaecology clinic that offers free consultations with a gynecologist, as well as therapy and legal advice. The organisation works with women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender-based violence and women's political participation and runs a small shelter for victims of domestic violence. Democrat Women also creates meeting places where Georgian and Armenian women can meet and work together on political issues.

Equality Movement

Description: We aspire to live in a society in which people’s gender identity or sexual orientation is not a cause for exhibiting violence or other forms of aggression, and where women and the LGBTQ community are equal members of the society. In order to bring this vision to life, our mission is to support women and the LGBTQ community to ensure their proper integration in the society, and, at the same time, to facilitate the eradication of sexism and homophobia in the society. Thus, the organization provides the social and legal services based on the needs of the beneficiaries, works towards mobilising the community and conducts interventions of policy advocacy and changing the social awareness.

Sakhli - Advice Center for Women

Description: Sakhli specialises in supporting victims of domestic violence (DV) and was the first organization in Georgia to solely focus on this issue.

Sakhli has multidisciplinary team which includes social workers, lawyers, psychologists, psychiatrists, family doctors and pediatricians. Our mandate is to help victims of DV with any problem they may face.

Our goals are:

- To support victims of domestic violence by providing them with services.

- To raise awareness and increase public understanding about the issue of domestic violence.

- To promote relevant legislative reforms on the issue of domestic violence.

- To create a network to protect the interests of domestic violence victims.

Union Sapari

Description: Union “Sapari” was established as a rehabilitation center for victims of domestic violence and provided medical and psychosocial help. Activities of “Sapari” cover not only assistance to victims of violence, but also training of social workers and police officers, awareness raise in society and improvement of the Georgian legislation, in order to eradicate violence and support gender equality.

Currently it works on all types of Women’s rights issues. Safari is involved in legislative, advocacy and lobbying activities as well. The organization works not only against violence on women in general and discrimination but also supports the strengthening of women’s political participation.

Description: The "Women's Initiatives Supporting Group (WISG)" is a feminist organization working on women's issues.
